Bila Tserkva and Borås (Sweden) signed a letter of intent for partnership
Hennadiy Dykyy, the mayor of Bila Tserkva, invormed the document was signed at a meeting of the Borås city council yesterday.
“The superpowers of the city of Borås are light industry and renewable energy. These areas are important for us as well, therefore we will focus in them in our cooperation,” says Vasyl Morskyi, the deputy mayor of Bila Tserkva.
The cities established cooperation at the Swedish-Ukrainian municipal partnership forum in June, which was organized by the Cities4Cities | United4Ukraine initiative.
During the forum, 12 Ukrainian and Swedish municipalities met for the first time. During the forum, 3 Ukrainian municipalities signed partnership agreements with Swedish peers. It is expected that other participants of the forum will sign cooperation agreements in the nearest future.
The initiative aimed at establishing long-term municipal partnerships was launched by SALAR International and the city of Lviv (Ukraine) with the support of the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
