History
The name of the village Chernechchyna derives from the word “monk” (Ukrainian: “чернець”), indicating that the area once belonged to monks. Part of the land, covered with forests, was settled by monks, who later founded the Cossack monastery “Nekhvoroshchanskyi Monastery,” which existed from the 1670s until 1799.

During the Russo-Turkish War (1735–1739), the monastery was surrounded by earthen trenches, which have been preserved to this day.
Over the centuries, these lands belonged to the Scythians, Sarmatians, monks, Cossacks, and many others. Near Chernechchyna, researchers discovered traces of a Bronze Age settlement.

Economy and Welfare
The community’s economy is primarily based on agricultural production, with more than ten farms specializing in growing grain, oilseeds, and vegetables. The entire territory is covered with fertile black soil.
The main activities of local enterprises include grain, oilseed, and vegetable cultivation.

Agricultural enterprises also operate within the community, providing significant employment opportunities.
There are 4 lyceums, 3 kindergartens, and several extracurricular activity clubs, including music, sports, and technical clubs.

The community has 1 general family medicine clinic and 4 health centers in remote villages.
There are 3 cultural centres and a community cultural hub where festive events, concerts, and gatherings take place.

The Chernechchyna Community actively develops through a combination of business activity, social projects, and volunteer initiatives. This creates a comfortable living environment and strengthens community cohesion.
The Community and the War
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the community has been actively helping defenders and internally displaced persons.
In the first days, the community transferred school buses for evacuating people from dangerous areas. Village council buildings were used as collection points for essential items (clothing, food, water). Schools were adapted to accommodate displaced persons.

This resilience and determination to accelerate victory persist. Every month, residents contribute by collecting food, weaving camouflage nets, and supplying other essential items for defenders.
