History

Later, settlements of Trypillia culture (3 thousand years BC), settlements of Chernyakhiv culture (3rd-4th centuries BC), settlements of Early Slavic culture (5th-6th centuries BC) emerged here.
After the Tatar-Mongol invasion, the area was depopulated to be further settled again.
The first documentary mention of Trostyanets (now the centre of the community) dates back to 1598.
Near Batih (now the village of Chetvertynivka), Ukrainian Cossacks led by Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi defeated a 30,000-strong army of the Polish nobility led by Crown Hetman of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Martyn Kalynovski on May 22-23, 1652.
From the 1790s, two distilleries operated in the town, one of which was converted for the production of alcohol from molasses in 1864. The Pototsky sugar factory was put into operation in 1834. Later, a grist mill, an oil mill, and a grain mill were built.
In 1884, a railway line was laid from the Demkivka railway station to the township. There was a printing shop and a bookbinding workshop in Trostyanets.
The Hordiivka Mounds are an archaeological landmark of the community. This is the largest monument of the Bronze Age in Europe.
Excavations were carried out from 1986 to 1989. During three years, 45 mounds were excavated. However, there are still many to be processed.
