History
The village of Vasylivka has a rich historical heritage, dating back to the Late Bronze Age of the 2nd-1st millennium BC. Archaeologists have discovered traces of ancient settlements here, including the periods of the first centuries of our era, the Saltiv culture (7th century) and the times of Kievan Rus (10th-11th centuries). These findings confirm the importance of this area as an important historical center.
Bauer’s map of the 18th century recorded a settlement called Kiriit on the southern outskirts of modern Bannivka. The village itself was founded by immigrants from North-Eastern Bulgaria, an ethnographic group that is now lost – Tukans or Poliantsevs. Their culture and traditions have left their mark in this region.
One of the key cultural objects of the village is the house-museum “Bolgarska kyshcha”. This unique museum is located in an old building that has preserved the authentic features of Bulgarian architecture. The exposition of the museum presents household items, traditional clothes, and handicrafts that reproduce the life of Bulgarian immigrants in Ukraine. Here you can learn more about the history of the Bulgarian diaspora, their customs, holidays and culture, which has become part of the local heritage.
There is a church built in 1847 in the village of Holytsia of the Vasylivka community. It survived difficult times: in 1963, the church was closed by the Soviet authorities, but in 1989, on St. Demetrius Day, the parishioners restored it. A special atmosphere is provided by the festive service, which is held every year on November 8, in honor of St. Demetrius of Thessalonica.
The community village of Kalcheva also has significant archaeological value. It is located in the southern part of Bessarabia. Remains of settlements of the 4th-3rd centuries BC and artifacts belonging to the period of Kievan Rus (10th-11th centuries) were found here which once again confirms the important role of this area in history.
Economy and Welfare
The Vasylivka rural territorial community has significant economic potential, the basis of which is agriculture. About 20 agricultural enterprises and more than 150 farms operate here. The main specialization of the community is the cultivation of grain and technical crops, which is an important part of the local economy and ensures the export of products to international markets.
One of the key advantages of the community is the introduction of modern agricultural technologies, which allow increasing productivity and improving the quality of crops. This creates opportunities for sustainable development and increased competitiveness in the world market.
The geographical location of the community and rich natural resources provide favorable conditions for further agro-industrial development. The Vasylivka community has all the prerequisites for attracting investors and turning itself into a regional center of agrarian business, which will contribute to economic growth and stability.
Community and War
The Vasylivka territorial community, like many areas of Ukraine, is going through significant trials during the war. Despite the difficulties, the community continues to show exceptional resilience, coherence and willingness to support those in need.
A humanitarian headquarters has been established in the community, which is actively engaged in the organization of aid for internally displaced people from war zones. This place has become a symbol of solidarity and support, where local residents work together to provide vital resources for those affected by war.
The Vasylivka community also takes an active part in supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of the examples is the “Heart in Armor” charity event, held by the Vasylivka Base Lyceum on Valentine’s Day. Pupils, together with parents and teachers, organized the sale of goodies and valentines, and the funds raised were transferred to support Ukrainian soldiers. This initiative became the embodiment of care and patriotism of the young generation.
Supporting the mental health and psychological stability of students is also a priority for the community. As part of the All-Ukrainian mental health program “How are you?”, the socio-psychological service of the Vasylivka community actively participated in the lesson on mental health “HOW ARE YOU? Let’s go back to school.” Pupils participated in activities aimed at raising awareness of the importance of mental and physical health and also learned methods of emotional recovery and support.
In these difficult times, the Vasylivka territorial community not only adapts to new conditions, but also preserves its cultural heritage, develops educational initiatives and takes care of the future generation.
People of the Community
Under the leadership of the head of the Vasylivka rural territorial community, Petro Boichev, the community has undergone significant positive changes. He actively works to improve the lives of residents, implementing numerous initiatives in various areas. Thanks to his leadership, the community became an example of cohesion and effective development.
Social projects, such as supporting low-income families and organizing cultural events, have become an integral part of community life. Petro Boichev pays special attention to environmental issues, implementing programs for waste disposal and popularizing an ecological way of life among residents. His efforts are aimed at making the Vasylivka community an example of ecologically responsible development in the region.
In the field of education, Petro Boychev actively cooperates with educational institutions, supporting the implementation of modern teaching methods and creating comfortable conditions for students. This contributes to the training of a new generation capable of developing the community in the future.
Thanks to his initiatives and support, the community became more cohesive, and residents became more actively involved in solving local problems. People come together to participate in social and cultural events, such as cultural evenings, sporting events and volunteer initiatives. These activities help to maintain morale and cohesion during difficult times.
Petro Boichev, together with the team and active residents of the community, continues to work on creating a safe and comfortable environment for all residents. Under his leadership, the community strives to become an example of successful and sustainable development, despite the challenges it faces.
Development Strategy
The Vasylivka territorial community approved the Development Strategy until 2027, which defines the main goals and objectives for the economic and social development of the community. This strategy is aimed at creating a comfortable environment for living, increasing the competitiveness of the area and providing conditions for the comprehensive development of the residents.
The main areas of development of the Vasylivka community include the creation of modern living conditions, the provision of high-quality administrative services, the development of the labor market with the opportunity to find well-paid work, and the preservation of a unique historical and cultural heritage. The strategy also provides for the integration of national traditions and values of the Ukrainian people into the modern life of the community.
Thanks to this strategy, the Vasylivka community aims to become an example of sustainable development and an attractive area for residence, investment and cultural exchange.
