Kornyn Municipality

The main resource of the Kornyn rural territorial municipality is its residents — active, responsible, and proactive people who strive to develop the municipality and improve the quality of life. Residents participate in public discussions, educational events, trainings, and development projects.
Special attention is paid to youth and schoolchildren involved in student self-government, youth initiatives, and educational projects that promote the development of leadership, civic responsibility, and democratic values.

The volunteer movement in the municipality is extremely active and unites residents for joint charitable, social, and educational initiatives. Historical Background
The history of the municipality is closely linked to the development of Volhynia, the events of the Cossack era, periods of various states, and the formation of modern Ukrainian statehood. Today, Kornyn Municipality combines respect for historical heritage with the active development of modern infrastructure, education, economy, and civic initiatives.
The earliest written mentions of settlements on the territory of the municipality date back to 1470, when the village of Kornyn is mentioned in historical acts. Archaeological finds indicate that the territory was inhabited as early as ancient times; in particular, mound burials and traces of settlements from the period of Kyivan Rus have been discovered.
The municipality includes several settlements with their own history of development.
Most settlements arose near rivers, forest resources, and trade routes, which contributed to the development of crafts, agriculture, and trade.
The territory of the municipality has preserved a number of historical and architectural monuments. Among them is the St Nicholas Church in the village of Kornyn, built at the end of the 17th century, as well as the St George Church in the village of Kolodenka, erected in 1788. In the village of Taikury, the remains of an ancient castle and the St Lawrence Catholic Church of the 18th century have been preserved, which are important objects of the region’s cultural heritage.

Kornyn territorial municipality is located in Rivne Raion of Rivne Oblast, near the oblast centre — the city of Rivne. The municipality has a favourable geographical location and combines a rural way of life with the active development of social infrastructure, civic initiatives, and craft production.

The economy of the Kornyn rural territorial municipality is based on a combination of industrial production, the agrarian sector, small and medium-sized entrepreneurship, the service sector, and craft production. The favourable geographical location near the regional centre — the city of Rivne — creates propitious conditions for business development, the attraction of investments, and the creation of new jobs.
Enterprises from various sectors operate on the territory of the municipality, forming the economic potential of the community. Among them is Rivne Flex, a leading company in the field of flexographic printing and the production of polymer packaging in the western part of Ukraine, which has been operating since 2007. The enterprise is among the largest producers in its field in Ukraine, ranks 5th in production volumes, and is included in the Forbes Next 250 rating, which confirms its stable development and significant contribution to the economy.
An important role in the development of the agrarian sector is played by the company “Eridon Tech”, part of the “Eridon” group. The enterprise specialises in the supply of modern agricultural machinery, spare parts, and maintenance services, contributing to the development of agrarian production and support for the region’s farms.
Creative industry enterprises also operate in the municipality, notably the company “Vip-Toys”, which is the only manufacturer of large-scale soft toys in Ukraine. The company’s products are exported to European countries and are in demand on the international market, which contributes to the promotion of Ukrainian manufacturing abroad.
The sphere of tourism and services in the municipality is represented by the hotel and restaurant complexes “Ivanhoe” and “4×4”, which are important objects of the municipality’s tourist and recreational infrastructure.
The combination of industrial production, the agrarian sector, entrepreneurship, and the service sector forms the economic basis of Kornyn Municipality and creates favourable opportunities for further development, the attraction of investments, and international partnership.
