People of the community
In 2020, Serhii Liubyvyi was elected head of the Chornobai territorial community. All his work in this position is aimed at economic and social development and the formation of a positive image of the Community
The community preserves its historical memory, which is why four museums operate here, namely: “Chornobai Historical and Local Lore Museum”, “Museum of the History of Krasenivka Village named after I.M. Piddubnyi”, “Bohodukhiv Historical and Local Lore Museum” and “Velykoburimka Historical and Local Lore Museum”. The museum institutions exhibit 6,592 items.
Each of the four museums has its own unique exhibition that is worth visiting.
Extracurricular education in the community is provided by the Centre for Children and Youth Creativity, where 33 clubs operate across eight areas — from artistic and sports to scientific-technical and military-patriotic. 442 children are involved in club activities. The institution is also actively engaged in the patriotic education of youth and conducts military-patriotic training.
An Inclusive Resource Centre with a day-care department for children with special educational needs operates in the community. The institution provides psychological, pedagogical, and correctional support for children, consults parents, determines the level of support required in the educational process, and provides methodological support to educational institutions with inclusive learning.
There are 40 cultural institutions operating in the community, including a public library with 15 branches, a historical and local history museum with three rural museums, a house of culture, 18 club facilities, and a children’s school of arts. The pride of the community is the Chornobai Children’s School of Arts, where students are taught to play musical instruments, vocals, and fine arts. Its students and teachers are actively involved in concert and creative activities.
The community and the war
The Chornobai community is a united centre of aid and support that works to provide everything necessary for defenders in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, cares for internally displaced persons and residents of de-occupied territories, sends humanitarian aid, and carries out defence and mobilisation tasks.
The Volunteer Aid Centre unites the purposeful volunteer work of employees from cultural, educational, and social protection institutions, starosta districts, all structures, and residents of the community. In the cinema building in the town of Chornobai, the Volunteer Aid Centre of the Chornobai territorial community is actively working, preparing “Chornobai-style” treats for defenders, dried soups and borscht, vitamin snacks, baking, knitting rugs, weaving camouflage nets, sewing lightweight stretchers, helmet covers, underwear, and much more.
Employees of the executive committee of the Chornobai town council, together with residents of the starosta districts and the town of Chornobai, have managed to implement many humanitarian projects for the purchase and transfer of vehicles, technical equipment, drones, spare parts, medicines, necessary materials, clothing, household items, and food products to military units.

History
The Chornobai region is the birthplace of prominent people.
Ivan Piddubnyi was born in the village of Krasenivka — a six-time world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling, a champion of champions, and a legendary man whose name is inscribed in golden letters in the sports chronicle of the 20th-century world. Ivan Piddubnyi was one of those who stood at the origins of modern: freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, and kettlebell lifting.
The Chornobai region is the birthplace of prominent figures in culture and science. Among them is Borys Romanytskyi, a Ukrainian actor and director, co-founder of the theatre named after M. Zankovetska and a laureate of the Shevchenko Prize. The neo-classical poet, translator, and literary scholar Mykhailo Drai-Khmara was born in the village of Mali Kanivtsi. The village of Khrestyteleve is the birthplace of the writer Volodymyr Rutkivskyi — author of famous works for children and a laureate of the Shevchenko Prize.
Economy and Welfare
The Chornobai town territorial community is located in Zolotonosha Raion of Cherkasy Oblast.
The total area of the territory is 616.2 km2.
The community includes the town of Chornobai and twenty-five settlements. The administrative centre of the community is located in the town of Chornobai.
The territory of the community is divided into 13 starosta districts.
The community’s primary enterprises are agricultural businesses.
In the structure of gross agricultural production, about 60% comes from crop production, with the remainder from livestock farming.
Industrial production is provided by companies that manufacture products under the “Sladosvit” brand: milk powder, condensed milk, sweet cream butter, dairy-vegetable blends, confectionery fillings, and confectionery products. The enterprise is an exporter of dairy products to 82 countries around the world.
An important infrastructure facility is the “Viktor & K” elevator complex at the “Chornobaivskyi Elevator” site, with a total storage capacity of up to 30,000 tonnes of grain crops, which provides logistical support to the agricultural sector. In the field of construction and maintenance of road infrastructure, the “Chornobaivskyi Asphalt Plant” operates, the activities of which are significant for the development of transport accessibility and the implementation of the community’s infrastructure projects.
