Ananiv Territorial Community
The Ananiv territorial community is located in the Podilsk district of Odesa region.
The total area is 825.7 km2.
The population of the community is 21,981 people.
Women: 11,869.
Men: 10,112.
IDPs: 1,396.
The community consists of 30 population centers with the administrative center in the town of Ananiv.

History
The area where Ananiv is located has a long and interesting history. Traces of human life from the times of the Tryplian culture were found nearby. The local steppes saw Cimmerians, Scythians, and Sarmatians, followed by raids by the soldiers of the Crimean Khanate, and then the Ottoman Empire.
In 1753, on the site of today’s Ananiv, a settlement was founded by the Zaporizhia Cossack Ananiy. Sloboda became for nomads the town where they could always buy the goods they needed in everyday life. And residents had the opportunity to sell their own agricultural products.
After the emergence of the Odesa port, the road to the sea, and thus to the border, ran through the town. Local merchants, landowners, rich people appeared here, who gave a new impetus to the economic and cultural development of the town. Active construction began, a factory for the production of building materials appeared, and the population grew rapidly.
By resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the town of Ananiv was included in the List of Historical Settlements of Ukraine.
The cultural and architectural pride of the town is the male gymnasium building, built in 1875. It still serves its purpose and hundreds of girls and boys study within these walls. The unique decoration has been preserved both outside and inside the gymnasium.
Among the important architectural monuments is the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The temple was built in 1914-1915. It was closed during the Soviet rule, and later acquired the status of an architectural monument. Nowadays, the monument has become the second cathedral.
The oldest church of the community is the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, located in the village of Ananiv.
Economy and Welfare
Nowadays, small business is developing here, there are more than a hundred business entities, agricultural and processing enterprises are developing.
The community is engaged in the development of crop and animal husbandry. The gross production of agricultural products is almost 80% of the total volume of production. More than 40 agricultural enterprises operate in the community. Grains, legumes and technical crops are mainly grown here.
The leader of the community in the development of horticulture is the farm Anna which has been engaged in the organic production of apples on an area of 20 hectares since 1997.
On the territory of the community there is a state enterprise experimental farm Zherebkivske of the breeding and genetic institute – the national center of seed science and variety study, which conducts research and experimental developments in the field of other natural and technical sciences.
Animal husbandry is an important branch in the general structure of agricultural production of the community. Cattle breeding, sheep breeding and beekeeping are priorities here.
One of the innovative enterprises of the community is Novator LLC. Cattle of the ancient steppe gray breed are raised here.
Novator LLC is also engaged in the cultivation of the medicinal plant sage on an area of 69 hectares, which is subsequently used in the pharmaceutical industry.
The development of the processing industry in agricultural enterprises has begun on the territory of the community. Magnolia-lan LLC is engaged in the production of sunflower oil and products of the flour-milling and grain industry.
Community and War
From the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, the residents of the Ananiv community showed solidarity and devotion to their country. Ordinary residents of the community became volunteers.
Dumplings, pies, and various preserves are prepared on the basis of catering facilities of educational institutions. All meals are delivered to the frontline for the Ukrainian military. They organize the collection of food, hygiene products, clothes and other necessary items for IDPs and the Armed Forces.
The Ananiv community provides constant support and assistance to the Armed Forces. Men and women of the community joined the ranks of the Armed Forces and defend Ukraine. Residents believe that their contribution to the defense of Ukraine and future victory is invaluable.
People of the Community
Yuriy Tyshchenko is the Head of the Ananiv community.
Thanks to the Mayor’s decisive steps in creating a favorable business climate, the community is becoming an investment-attractive area. Yuriy Tyshchenko supports local business, initiates projects and invests resources in cultural events, which makes the community not only an economic but also a cultural center of the region.
Among such events is the festival of Ukrainian culture, Jewels of the Ananiv Area. Here, the participants present to the jury their skills in choreographic, vocal, visual and handicraft arts, impressing with their versatility and potential.
Traditionally, the Embroidery Festival gathers the entire Ananiv community in a single family circle. Children and adults dress up in embroidered dresses and march in a solemn column through the central street of the town to the Youth Park, where the main celebration takes place.
A festival is held here to celebrate Ananiv Town Day, in which gifted children and teenagers participate. Participants of decorative, applied and visual arts, vocal and choreographic, sports and martial sambo groups are invited to the festival.
The community has a close partnership with the Moldovan diaspora. A vivid example of cooperation is the traditional festival of Moldovan national culture – Struhushor. This traveling festival was founded in 2003. Every year, the baton is passed from the Moldovan village of Handraburi to Ananiv.
Every year, a festival of young wine and polenta is waited here, which is an integral part of the people’s celebration of the Struhushor festival. All those present are participants in a large, joint dance that unites all as a sign of friendship.
Residents of the community always take part in sports competitions. A football direction is being developed here on the basis of the youth sports school of the Ananiv Town Council.
Development Strategy
The Ananiv Town Council has prepared an updated community development strategy. Its priority goals are the improvement of living conditions in the community and the development of tourism. Now the community is actively working on the creation of a tourist route.
Since the powerful industrial potential is the main strength of the Ananiv community, supporting local business remains an important task. The leadership of the community is considering increasing the financing of local programs for the development of cooperation and rural areas, creating opportunities for young people to start their own business.
The community has a lot of area for the establishment of new enterprises. Therefore, there are plans to increase the industrial potential through the construction of new infrastructure and the attraction of investors.
