History
The first information about the settlement of Hryshkivtsi appeared in 1775. It is from this time that the wooden church of Saint Demetrius traces its history. But scientists constantly find the remains of settlements of the Trypillia culture, the Bronze Age, and the Chernyakhiv culture on the territory of the community. So we can only imagine the real historical age of the Hryshkivtsi community.
In the 19th century, Hryshkivtsi belonged to the Polish nobleman Ignat Stanislawowich Paskowski.
In January 2019, thanks to decentralization, the Hryshkivtsi territorial community was formed, which began the countdown to a new progressive and successful history.
Tourist Sites
In 1970, an artificial island with a romantic wooden house was created on the Kodenka River in the village of Staryi Solotvyn. It is a popular shooting location among Ukrainian filmmakers and various musical groups, including the Belarusian band Brutto (“Lyapis Trubetskoy”).
A must-see for all tourists is the miraculous well in the village of Polovetske, Hryshkivtsi community. According to legend, the miraculous water restores sight and gives youth, incredible strength and beauty.
Architecture
History of the Church of the Holy Cross in Staryi Solotvyn covers a period of approximately 130 years. Built way back in 1885, this wooden church is a sample of a school of traditional wooden architecture. Researchers claim that craftsmen built the ancient temple without a single nail.
The village of Hvizdava of the Hryshkivtsi community is known for its spirituality and new Roman Catholic church. The majestic Church of the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary in the Gothic style has its own library, a modern conference hall and rooms for solitude.
In the village of Halchyn of the Hryshkivtsi community, the estate of the world-famous writer, adventurous diplomat and brave military figure of the 19th century Mykhailo Chaikovskyi has been preserved. Newspapers in France, Great Britain and even the United States wrote about him. He received awards and recognition from various foreign countries. The end of the Crimean War was a triumph in the life of Mikhail Tchaikovsky (Sadik Pasha).
All his life, Chaikovskyi dreamed of resurrecting the ancient Sich and the greatness of the Ukrainian Cossacks. Free Ukraine was an important idea for him. Today, the manor in Halchyn is the only preserved estate associated with the last chieftain of the Ukrainian Cossacks.
Economy and Welfare
The main resource of the community is the land on which grain fields are raised and hop growing, berry growing and horticulture are developed. This is an investment-attractive territory, where there are prospects for setting up and running private businesses. Agricultural enterprises and farms operate in the community.
Residents actively develop the manufacture of craft products. Also, fairs of local craftsmen are held here.
The doors of the manor of Mykhailo Chaikovskyi in the village of Halchyn were opened for visitors and tourists. A gastrofest White borscht and more was held on the territory of the manor, which was planned back in peacetime. We received positive feedback and interesting proposals for the promotion of local gastronomic heritage.
Currently, the manor of Mykhailo Chaikovskyi in the village of Halchyn is undergoing a project that will fill the estate with modern cultural life and give impetus to the development of similar estates in the country.
Community and War
Since the first day of the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, the Hryshkivtsi community has been receiving people fleeing the war. Here we support the arrived people with medicines, food packages, clothing, footwear and basic necessities.
Today, the Hryshkivtsi community is requested to accommodate evacuees from the war zone and occupied territories. A shelter for IDPs is already being built in the village of Nykonivka of the Hryshkivtsi community. This social project was supported by international charitable funds and socially responsible local businesses.
People of the Community
Since 2015, the Hryshkivtsi settlement community has been headed by Irena Lisova.
Since the first days of the war, she has ensured the livelihood of the community, supported local residents, displaced persons and military personnel.
“Our reality is terrible, painful and difficult. But we did not lose heart, did not turn into those who only need sympathy and pity. We all continue to work together, carry out our tasks, plan activities and live under martial law. Today we have different goals and different lines of activity, but thanks to our coherence, we will stand and win!” – says Irena Lisova.
Development Strategy
The Hryshkivtsi community has its own Development Strategy with the following priorities:
- creating an attractive business environment;
- community infrastructure development;
- development of the tourism sphere;
- mobilizing the public to implement local self-government;
- improving the quality of leisure time organization;
- improving the quality of delivery of social services in the community;

A community that takes care of each and every resident will definitely become comfortable, attractive and promising place.
