Kamianske Community

The Kamianske Community is an amalgamated territorial community in Ukraine, in Berehove Raion, Zakarpattia Oblast. The administrative centre is the village of Kamianske. The community was established on 22 December 2019. The community comprises 8 settlements.
Total area: 71.58 sq km
Population: 9,447 people, including:

History
The first settlements on this territory date back to the Late Bronze Age (1300 BC) in the village of Khmilnyk.
The village of Ardanovo is one of the oldest Slavic settlements in the region, as evidenced by the etymology of the name. The legend of the victorious battle of the local prince Ardan with the Tatar-Mongols has survived.
Finds from the Eneolithic period, historical continuity with the ancient state traditions of Kyivan Rus, close connection with the name of Prince Fedir Koriatovych, a famous Transcarpathian prince, and interesting church history – all this forms a unique historical and cultural potential that is interesting for both tourists and professional researchers.

There is a station Khmilnyk within the community – a junction station of the Vynohradiv-Khmilnyk-Irshava branch, as well as Berehove-Khmilnyk. Both are active. ‘The Borzhava Narrow-Gauge Railway (popularly known as the ‘Antsia Kushnytska’) is one of the few operating narrow-gauge railways in Ukraine.
Economy and Welfare
Today, 63 legal entities and 194 individual entrepreneurs are registered and operating in the Kamianske Community.
The economic base of the community is formed by enterprises/institutions, organizations, and individual entrepreneurs representing various types of economic activity: from tourism and rest to farming. As a consequence, employment of local population is related to local economy to the major extent.
Industry: KIFA LLC, AGROFERT LLC, ARDANBUD LLC, UKRAINA LLC, GRONO LLC, SILAN LLC, PARTEUR IR LLC, MILKOR LLC, CHIZAY LLC.
KIFA, which is located in the village of Midianytsia, started its operations in 2015. The company was established on the basis of a former brick factory and has its own quarry, producing building ceramics and other products made of fired clay, such as bricks, blocks, etc.


ARDANBUD is engaged in the construction of residential and non-residential buildings and operates in the field of engineering, geology and geodesy, providing technical consulting services in these areas.
GRONO is engaged in the cultivation of grain and industrial crops, as well as the cultivation of fruits, berries, nuts for the production of beverages and spices, and the breeding of cattle.
SILAN is engaged in wholesale trade of a wide range of products.
PARTER IR is engaged in the construction of residential and non-residential buildings, performs roofing and other construction completion works, as well as painting and glazing.
MILKOR is engaged in the cultivation of cereals (except rice), legumes and oilseeds, pome and stone fruits, berries, nuts, other fruit trees and shrubs, and auxiliary activities in crop production. Activities of intermediaries in the trade of goods of a wide range.
CHIZAY is engaged in the production of grape wines, grape cultivation, production of other undistilled beverages from fermented products, and wholesale of beverages.

A program to engage young people in the restoration of Ukraine through the implementation of youth exchanges “VidNOVA:UA” was implemented on the basis of the community
The community has 8 kindergartens and 1 preschool group that operates at the gymnasium. The community also has 2 lyceums with branches and 4 gymnasiums. There is also a children’s art school.


In 2024, the teacher’s room of the Kamianske Lyceum underwent a major renovation and refurbishment.


A school bus was purchased for the Siltse Lyceum at the expense of a subvention from the state budget and co-financing from the local budget.




The Community and the War
Those residents of the community who are unable to fight at the front today join various volunteer organisations and help our military by working in the rear.
They organize charity fairs for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in schools and weave nets. Many businesses and ordinary citizens began to produce camouflage nets, stoves for the front and other necessary items for the military
- Kamianske has become one of the centres for receiving IDPs from the frontline areas, including Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Oblasts.
- Temporary accommodation places for internally displaced persons were set up in villages. People found support from both local authorities and ordinary citizens.


Community People

Mykhailo Stanynets has been the Head of the Kamianske Village Council since January 2020. For the fourth year in a row, we continue to operate successfully in the context of local government reform and the implementation of decentralization principles.
Since September 2023, four two-storey houses have been built in the Kamianske Community in the village of Ardanovo at the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, called Address of Childhood, using advanced technologies to provide family-based care for children who, due to certain life circumstances, are deprived of the opportunity to grow up in their families.


Today, Mykhailo Stanynets is focusing his efforts on the future of the Kamianske Community, paying attention to the care of children and the health of the residents, so that young people can build a life in their small homeland.
Development Strategy
The community has developed a Development Strategy until 2027 with specific programmes to encourage entrepreneurship.
The following is planned:
New construction of individual frame-panel houses for large families in the village of Ardanovo.
New construction of a general practice outpatient clinic in the village of Khmilnyk
Construction of a multifunctional sports complex
Construction of a sports and playground on the territory of the Siltse Lyceum of the Kamianske Village Council, Berehove Raion, Zakarpattia Oblast
Reconstruction of the canteen at the Siltse Lyceum and Kamianske Lyceum.
Construction of a pavilion with drinking water from a natural spring and landscaping.
