The first mention of the settlement dates back to 1889. In the late 19th century, the Odesa Scientific Society of Resort Experts began studying the Shabolat Estuary, which is located in the territory of the present-day Serhiivka Community. That is when the healing factors of the resort were discovered.

In 1970-1990, the tourist boom of the community began. At that time, there were 8 sanatoriums, 10 children’s health camps, 19 recreation centres and a hotel complex. A bridge was built along the estuary. He connected the mainland with the Black Sea.

In 2016, the St. Sergius of Radonezh Church was opened. The church was built in the Boiky & Hutsuly style and has its own vineyard. It is an exact copy of the architectural monument of national importance in the Chernivtsi Region – the Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah. Materials for construction were made in the same village according to the exact dimensions of the temple.
